Extensive Marble Cleaning Routine

Marble is a stone often used for construction of countertops. It is also utilized as decorative accents on furniture. Despite being durable and classy, this requires efficient Marble Cleaning and maintenance as it is prone to scratching, etching and staining.

Protecting Your Marble from Scratches:

Avoid putting sharp-edged and hard objects on top of marble. Be sure to put padding on the legs of chairs and tables. Your marble countertop will be scratched if you accidently drag a heavy unpadded chair or table over it. On Marble Countertops, always use mats or coasters to prevent scratching it with appliances or glasses.

  • As marble is easily stained, spilled liquids must not stay on its surface for a long time. Immediately wipe marble surfaces being spilled with coffee, wine, orange juice, and liquids containing abrasive elements.
  • Use damp, soft cloth to wipe it. Do not scrub because this may cause scratches on the marble. The best way is to wipe with circular motions over the areas where liquids were spilled.
  • Always keep the marble dry. Never allow water to form pools for a long time as it may leave stains that are not easy to remove.
  • For the Marble Deep Cleaning tip, use a Marble Cleaner or light soap. In case dirt and dust have accumulated on your countertop, use warm water diluted with non-abrasive dish soap to remove them. Use a soft clean cloth to wipe the residues out.

You may also use hydrogen peroxide on light colored marble; just do the same procedure mentioned above.
